Ok so I now understand that the wife cannot fish if I'm fishing on the same IP. Question is now if I fish can she farm leeches for her gil or is that a violation of HELMF? Or am I stuck spoiling her in game like RL and buying her everything she wants like I'm her personal bank. If I have to spoil her I'm going to fish forever lol

Farming does not count towards HELM. So you should be fine.
