I'm not sure if this is a know problem or not but I can't seem to trade the mythril sand that I acquire during the Bastok potion of the mission.

Same, doing Sandy ---> Bastok. My in game character is Chubash. It started with Grohm, who would not give me a cutscene. I went and got the Mythril Sand anyway but the consulate won't take it. I can't progress through rank without this. Thanks in advance!

Same thing. cant trade the sand to the npc.
I can't remember if i received the CS , because my char is old and it's been months since i remember starting the quest.
I tried from the beginning and the quest is activated halver recognizes me, the Sandoria consulate in bastok also recognize the quest. But Grohm doesn't give cs, so i can't advance
I'm doing Bastok-windurst in that order.

On my other char (started 3 days ago) the same path , bastok everything ok, windurst everything ok. (just need to kill the dragon)

I'm having the same problem. Grohm won't give me the cut scene
I heard that people with the sand in their inventory before they talked to Grohm would bug it out and they just needed to drop the sand and talk to him again but I didn't have the sand when I talked to him.
My brother and I started at the same time did all the same quest and he got all cut scenes fine but it bugged out on me at Grohm

Have the Mythril Sand but Savae e Paleade won't accept it in trade, no response.

I've heard that you can drop the Mythril Sand, then get a new one.
This has worked apparently for several players.

Tried dropping the sand then going and getting more. No effect, still won't accept it.

I am having this very same problem.... I tried dropping sand and redoing to no avail with the same result... Need help on this one please.

Just had this issue. I dropped the sand but I'm way too tired to go back through all the stuff to get the sand again. Maybe some other time.

I have talked to all the required npc for the mission and got the proper bits of dialog according to the Script Page: http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Journey_Abroad/Plot_Details

When I trade the Mythril Sand to Savae E Paleade nothing happens.
I tried:
- dropping the Mythril Sand > refining a new one.
- dropping the Mythril Sand > talking to every npc in order > refining a new one.
- dropping the Mythril Sand > talking to every npc in order > mining the gravel from a different seam > refining a new one.

Savae still won't take the Mythril Sand when I trade it.

I have tried almost every real life day to get this working, talking to every npc, going to the mines, mining the gravel, refining it and the bringing it back to Savae. But this has not changed anything.

I checked my key items, both temporal and permanent and noticed I don't have the "Letter to the Consuls" I don't know it was supossed to dissapear one I talked to Savae. I do remember getting the letter from Halver.

If there is any more info I can provide to resolve this issue, let me know. Thanks!
