The first time I’m traveling abroad on my own is coming up soon, and I’ll be arriving at Lisbon Airport. I’ve never been to a major international airport before, so I’m a little worried that I might get lost or end up going the wrong way. Could you tell me how clear the signage is in the terminal and whether it’s easy for someone without much travel experience to find their way around?

In particular, I’m interested in the steps to take immediately after getting off the plane, so I don’t accidentally miss the baggage claim area or passport control. How clearly are the flows of arriving and departing passengers separated in the main terminal building? If I get lost in the arrivals hall, which staff member should I ask for help, and where can I find them?

How I remember that feeling when I first arrived at the airport. Hello. Don’t worry—Lisbon Airport is fairly compact and has a standard, logical layout. All signs are duplicated, and the main directions are marked with clear icons, so it’s hard to get lost there. If you want to study the terminal map and the layout of the main areas in advance, visit the Official website of Lisbon Airport —it has a detailed floor plan for each level. After exiting the jet bridge or bus, simply follow the general signs for “Baggage Claim” and “Passport Control”; all passengers head in the same direction. The arrival and departure flows are strictly separated, so you won’t accidentally end up in the departure area. Information desk staff in uniform are always on duty in the arrivals hall, and you can feel free to ask them any questions. Are you arriving on a direct flight, or do you have a layover in another city?
