As the title says, looking for some friends to start playing with, opinions of FF XI in general, as well as the essential need-to-know things that i might miss as a newcomer (yes I have a controller). I have previous experience in WoW and FF 14ARR. Looking forward to spending a few years here.

FF11 is pretty tough if you've never played it. Tough in the sense that it doesn't give anything to you at all. You have to earn and learn everything about the game.

The links Searain provided are all good stuff but some things might be different on Nasomi then what you find on those pages, but not much atm.

There is also a server Linkshell, so if you get in just ask anyone for one.

Hey, welcome to the server!

Firsts things first, you already probably know this is a free server, that being said, not everything works according to the official online guides. Indeed, the game is brutal and not for everyone, however it is really awesome to explore and make new friendships, this game does a good job of that. Second, there are some specific ways to play classes and leveling up, even though you dont have to, it will really benefit to take advice from advanced players and grow upon that knowledge.

*note*
I suggest you grab the server LS (HogHouse) for updates and general help, however beware of trolls, with any online game your gonna get it. Just dont let anyone get you down and move forward.

And last, have fun! This game has a wonderful story line and some memorable characters, if you liked the previous games, you will enjoy this old school mmo!
