These are bugs that newbies run into their first day or first week of playing that I feel like should be prioritized. Yes, I know nas has his own roadmap and things to do. These things need to be interleaved with that roadmap so that this list can be chopped down to size.

Resting-> trying to get up-> resting again bug. Players who have been dealing with this for a while don't even notice it happen anymore because we've all gotten used to how to avoid it.

Zoning at the same time as someone else and you can't see each other sometimes. A newbie who plays with another newbie friend, or even a friend on the server already, will run into this and have no idea what is going on. Even if you're helping a newbie and you run into this, you have to sit there and explain that the server is buggy. That's a problem.

Dbox. Can't send items to someone else. Self explanatory.

/sea all rolls over after 255. This makes the server seem smaller than it actually is. A lot of newbies probably get turned off when they /sea all and see 5 players when there is really 260.

Party bugs. Please just refresh the party list like every second or something, because it is frustrating to have a newbie accept a pt invite and have no idea that they got bugged, and they have no idea what's wrong. By extension, alliances breaking when a player joins/leave that isn't in the same zone as the rest of the alliance.

Sync bugs. We need to be able to unsync and resync without reforming a party. This is run into -every time- you party. Terrible.

Newbies buying disabled EXP rings. I sent a fix to nas for this but he didn't put it in yet.

Mob pathing. Stop making them run randomly behind people. It's annoying. I don't care if it's something that SE introduced and you like it, nas, it isn't era. This didn't happen in 2006.

Weapon skill sometimes getting capped at the wrong amount. Re-equipping fixes this but a newbie shouldn't have to do that.

Mob TP. Every server says it's 'fixed' but none of them, including ours, really has it fixed. I don't remember getting hit by a TP move by a lv 1 mob ever ever ever in retail. You can see that TP is broken because a lv 40 Ranger in Riverne Site can get a Hippo down to under 50% HP with a single barrage and the hippo then TP moves. Yes, that was the only thing that touched that move. Something is broken with TP.

Skeletons still attack people downstairs in the boat sometimes. A newbie shouldn't be dying while loading into the boat. It's bad enough that they had to go all the way from Windy to get to the dunes.

OWNM placement is bad. Move them out of the way of typically newbie pathways. They shouldn't be killing newbies while they're just traveling to the dunes for the first time or doing an early mission. They look ugly too. Newbies think the OWNMs themselves are bugs. Move them to a place that a newbie won't find them so easily.

Some outpost guards like the Saruta one are broken. They won't take your supplies. Newbies have to go to the other NPC in the zone to hand them in.

I know it's intentional but losing bait when canceling fishing is just too much. A new player who might have bought a rig and is trying to make some cash is now gonna be out a few thousand gil. Which was probably all their gil.

Asking for recipes from synth NPCs locks up your game. You can't do anything. A newbie is gonna click that option. Remove it.

Zoning and ending up out of bounds. Not all newbies know to buy warp scrolls. There needs to be a way to warp from out of bounds that's usable like once a week or something for emergencies for these guys. Right now nas has to move each one manually. That's a waste of time for both the player and nas.

Not being able to see the buffs of the 6th party member (whoever joined last). This can be somewhat worked around but it's still annoying.

This is not supposed to be a 'shit on nasomi' thread. This is just to hopefully bring some attention to issues that newbies in particular run into. This hurts our server's retention of new players. There are more important things to fix and add for endgame players, but these are important for newbies.

I joined the server on Saturday, and I've run into a number of these myself. While frustrating, my love of the game helps me look past it. However, other newbies may be turned off by it and seek another server instead. I appreciate you compiling these here, hopefully they become a priority item.

Additionally, I'd just like to thank Nasomi and whatever staff they have going because this server has been wonderful so far. Lots of good people, hoping to see more new blood flow in and stick around!

The resting/getting up/re-resting bug is incredibly annoying. I've been playing for almost 4 months now and I've yet to learn how to avoid it. So... tips? It has definitely cause unnecessary deaths and hassle in tight situations.

Also, adding in my support for fixed /sea functionality. As someone whose name starts with X, I'm usually truncated on my LS list, let alone LFP searches or whatever else.

When getting up, just tap the key. Then wait until you're allll the way up before trying to move.

Regarding /sea, I just mean the bug that rolls the number of people over after 255. Which means if there are 256 people online on the server, /sea all says that ONE person is online. It's discouraging.

The truncating of the list itself is done client side. There is no way to make X names just show up earlier randomly.

hey that thing you mentioned with the not seeing someone when zoning, i think it has to do with trying to interact with someone before they load in your game.

Not true. You can zone at the same time as someone else and they sometimes will simply not appear, or vice versa. It's just fairly random, so it may have happened when what you said took place.

it may be too late for some people but often 3 letter nicknames are common so please avoid names with 3 first letters of a abbreviation of a job. i .e BLUnderful

It's not a newbie bug per-se but one of the huge things for me, especially with a lot of new members joining the shell I'm in, is the linkshell list. I don't know how many are in the shell, but sometimes the list only shows up to L. It's incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to find out who all is online.

I've gotten a few of these.

The Empress Ring thing is the biggest thing for me. I've had friends join, spend all their conquest points on a ring, and then quit in annoyance when it didn't work.

I have gotten stuck in voids, but I've always had a warp scroll with me. Even a /suicide command would help, if I did get stuck and a group was waiting for me, I'd rather take an XP hit than wait.
