This argument could be said about literally anything. That doesn't change the point that something should still be changed

This is why the sync-to-half-your-level thing comes with the suggestion of cutting EXP by the same percentage you sync down. This encourages finding the highest sync target possible.

This will still hurt lower-level players as higher level people will be far less likely to sync down. Imo, the exp penalty basically kills this idea on the drawing board, it will just leave us with a population trying to avoid syncing down as much as possible.

Think its a moot point to ask for the level sync restriction to be done away with. This was never about "getting people out of the dunes." This was about stopping power pulling manaburn parties where blms would sync down to 15 in C.Landing or 25 in Bikibi bay or in the 30's in C.nest. These parties had a 75rdm pull the entire low level zone which resulted in someone hitting 75 in like 4 days. IRC was flooded day in and day out with people complaining about these type of parties either in Bibiki or Crawlers Nest. Nas eventually acted on it and put an end to it swiftly. Unfortunately, exp is always going to be in a rough spot for someone under whatever rules are implemented.

The solution is not to make building parties harder and more frustrating for everyone that isn't doing that, which is exactly what the current sync system does.

Again, those veteran players will always find ways to do stuff like that, that's never going to change. The current "solution" to this problem hurts players who are trying to build regular exp parties more than it hurts those veteran players who just want to grind to 75 as quickly as possible.

They'll just take their EG shell buddies and three 75 PLs and monopolize whatever camp is best for that range. I saw some TS members just last week pulling ALL the lizards at the 12 Dunes camp with at least two 75 PLs, while there were two other parties trying to exp there. They just had 6-7 lizards claimed at all times. If the problem is 75's pulling whole zones, then simply make that against the rules and enforce it.

That's purely a matter of opinion. You're the person who happens to dislike it. I personally like it, as do a lot of people I talk to and have partied with. It's exactly as Vik says, you can't please everyone all of the time. If your suggestion is taken, someone else will dislike it. Who's to say you're right and they're wrong, or they're right and you're wrong?

There are some times that the sync screws a party over but to be honest the best way to counteract that is to build the party while keeping the time and population in mind.

If you are trying to form a party during peak time and the population is 480, you would build the party expecting the population to rise above 500 before the party gets started.

I know people have frustrations with the sync system and sometimes I call it stupid as well but seriously when I first started here I leveled a BLM to 42 without leaving the dunes/qufim simply because those were the fastest party invites but man leveling was boring. Rarely did anyone ever try to start a party outside of those 2 zones.

Or for fun we could go back to pre-sync era leveling and see a drastic increase in love for the current sync system, still remember sitting in Kazham for 3 days straight as a level 25 Dark Knight not getting a single party invite.

Something doesn't have to change, like you said. Not everyone's gonna be happy with a solution, and you're currently the person that isn't happy with the solution.

Life goes on.

Whenever I'm making a party, and the population is on the rise, and if it's close to changing, I just assume it's going to change, and invite levels that are appropriate for the sync that will likely be in place after we're all gathered together. I don't think i've ever had a problem doing this to my recollection. It's not to hard to plan ahead.

If you want a kazham party, head to kazham. There are so many times that I've invited people to kazham only to find out that they're in their 30's but they haven't gotten the kazham airship pass yet. I rolled into kazham, put my flag up, and did some inventory management selling off stuff and buying gear. Within 20 minutes I got an invite. Some of my best parties have been in kazham, the exp/hr is way higher than the dunes or qufim.

Agreed. Love Kazham
