I apologize in advance if this has been answered already. I tried searching the forums but "Experience" and "Loss" it thought were too common of words and wouldn't search topics. I've played FFXI a really long time. I know in 2011, the live game made changes to XP loss on death which made things easier at lower levels. I can't recall how XP loss at low levels worked prior to that, or here on 2005 Nasomi FFXI.

Do you suffer XP loss from Level 2 onward as a percentage? Does it start at some level later? How much is it with regards to your level?
I died like a dozen times at level 5 last night and didn't delevel...and didn't notice the XP loss but didn't pay that close of attention. Friend of mine said he deleveled but is a little higher so maybe that made a difference. Figured I'd ask you guys.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but I believe at level 5+ you lose 10% of your exp it takes to level up each time you are incapacitated.

Thanks...this could solve the mystery. I was level 5 and didn't notice it, my friend was level 7 or 8 and did.

I checked once after dying below level 50 and I lost 8% here. The current retail standard is also 8%.

People say the furnishings don't give a working moghancement, or else you'd be able to reduce this with Moghancement: Experience. I believe beds gave them.
