Just wanted to let you guys know that the Selbina docks seem to work with the same setup (Clothspole and little worm) and will catch the same fish (Cobalt Jelly fish and the fabled rusty bucket!) I fish here while I LFP in dunes, since I'm a noob and don't know where else to go. Yay for sync!

Anyway, hope that helps someone out who may not know how to get to or want to pay to go to Bastok.

Found something kinda weird , Hit level 10 and carp cap at 11 but i get no skill ups at all.

I can definitely attest to moat carps taking me all the way to 11. Maybe it's just some bad luck?

nope im pretty sure something is up because my cooking was doing the same thing , so i figured that was bad luck but i fished around 30 stacks now and nothing.

Ugh been a longtime since i crafted ignore me i forgot about this -------> Every 10 levels of any craft (including fishing) has what is referred to as a "Test Item". This is proof to the guild that you really know how to craft in their guild. By turning in the item to the guildmaster, he will unlock the cap on that craft. You can submit the test item as early as 2 levels prior to the cap (ie: 8, 18, 28, 38...98). With the exception of the last test item, you do not need to craft the item yourself. Which means, friends, the AH, RoE, etc can all be your friends on unlocking the cap in that craft.

Not sure if this affects crafting skills/fishing skills but I have noticed sometimes when fighting you'll get capped on for example evasion skill and it stops going up. But if you log out and back in you then continue to get skill ups until you reach the real cap. If you hit the real cap and log out and back in then you do stay capped. So if the skill up test is not the issue this might affect crafting also as I have noticed certain times I'll stop skilling up and log out and back in and then its normal again. But crafting is such a shot in the dark you never know if it's just bad luck or a bug.

So what is the deal with Black Sole can this not be fished now??? Since the change.

Also is there any fish beyond carp that skills up but gives a decent income so you are not throwing gil away,

Well this wasn't really intended to be a fishing guide per se, just a way to get people off the ground. While conventional fishing guides might not be applicable, there is a full comprehensive list of fish by level at great-blue.jp. To start you off, after hitting level 11 on moat carps, I suggest hitting yellow globes in Mhaura with a Composite Rod and a Sabiki Rig!

(Note: Rigs are alittle funky on the server. Don't cancel a fishing message, or you'll lose your rig. Just let your stamina run out, and you'll reel it back. Should the server crash for any reason, you'll most likely lose your rig. It's a good idea to bring 4-5 backup rigs. Luckily, they're sold at the guild merchants in Selbina and the ship to Mhaura though!)
