Well Ifrits Cauldron isn't beginner level money. For multiple reasons. 1 it is a level 70+ zone, 2 you need unlock Kazam (Unless you get Tidal'ed There) 3 Mining is usually and best done in groups especially at Ifrits Cauldron to prevent excessive Ice Clusters being needed. Lots of stuff sells on the AH. Food is a great source.

Really the best way to go about earning some quick money at the start is.

1. Go outside and kill things that drop Wind/Dark Crystals (That's Bats & Fungars if you are from Sandy)
2. Earn enough to by a fishing rod and some bait and start fishing in the moat
3. Sell moat carp for 3k a stack
4. Get 20-30 stacks for 60-90k gil (This should last you until mid 40s if not longer depending on how much +1 items you are wanting to get) obviously this isn't going to get you things like Leaping boots, Hairpin, Peacock Neck. But it will get you +2 STR rings, good weapons, and decent armor.
5. at 1 moat carp per min that's 240 -360 mins or 4 - 6 hours of fishing to provide ALL of the money you need while leveling. Everything else you get will be gravy gil on top while leveling.

Once you get a high level char with a THF sub, killing Beastmen, farming elemental clusters, crafting will be better options to make money.

As previously stated, fishing is king here. So make a market out of bait. Go out in W. Ron. Tons of dirt that can be dug up. Collect all those worms and sell them to the fisherman.
