Is the catharsis spam a bug or an intentional change to make it harder on purpose?

Catharsis spam was reported in NasChat/IRC right out the gate on the day the BCs were added back. Nas made some kind of adjustment that required a quick bounce.

BSTs were getting past it using Smash Axe to stun.

Well I have NIN40/BLM and RNG42, I'm trying for a peacock amulet and Utsusemi:Ni/Refresh for money drops. My 1st try was unsuccessful because it seemed that the Elemental wheel was barely effected by INT and MAB. Even at capped skill I was only nuking for 40-50 a shot when unresisted.

I thought about turning around during casts to smack it a few times to help speed up DPS.

For as long as this bcnm has been around on nasomi, magic (and ninjutsu) has been ineffective against the eyes. It's not enough damage in comparison to how quickly they heal now, for certain.

That's not really true. BLM works fine on these now. We had no trouble outdamaging Catharsis with 2 BLM, but you definitely want to make sure both BLMs have at least 75% MP before you start, otherwise you may simply run out of MP.

It's been killed many times as NIN, NIN, RDM with the ele wheel once it was released.

I have no idea if further adjustments have made that impossible, but "for as long as this bcnm has been around" isn't true.

Has anyone noticed random crashes in horlais peak? I've lost many orbs just because my game crashes before I enter and after I've entered the BC. It's driving me crazy because it doesn't seem to happen to anyone else.

plan on trying again this weekend using magic, hopefully the spam of it doing it every 7 seconds is no longer there, otherwise we gonna have to level ranger or something
