This windows update seems to have created 3 (?) issues for players:

1. "Hairpin Fix applied. Closing..." / "Sending account ID. Closing..."
(NOT "Sending key... Closing...")
No solution has been found for this issue yet. If you have more information, or something that worked, please post here.

2. Double-entry of password characters.
You can workaround the double-entry by passing your username and password as flags through ashita:


If you have a solution for number 2 and not just the workaround, that'd be really good to know.

3. Unable to progress beyond the ToS agreement.

Keep in mind nas has been working on a new installer and it's possible that they solve these issues somehow, but there's no guarantee, so finding why these occur after the latest Windows update would help a lot of people.

The new installer has seemed to fixed the issue, although after installing and running from the desktop shortcut i did get the same error. After running it from the Ashita folder it worked fine and managed to make it to character creation.

Nevermind...it seemed it was a one time only thing... just tried getting back on same thing happens. Sigh.

Did you move game files?

Regarding #1, I was having the same issue.

I had originally installed using the v18 installer with no issues (to an non-default directory, E:\NasomiXI). I did the same with the v19 installer and that's when the issue started.

In the registry, the default v19 install path of c:\program files (x86)\NasomiXI\... had been put in the three keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayNasomiUS\InstallFolder. My original (v18) install path of E:\NasomiXI\... was in the keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\InstallFolder. In both of these sets of keys those paths were not the new path I had specified as E:\Program Files (x86)\NasomiXI\...

After manually changing those keys to the correct path, I'm able to get in without issue.

BUT this was an issue before the new v19 installer, so it can't be the same exact problem. But, if you used v19, the fix is in that link.

I haven't been able to find a solution yet, but I've learned that in v1803 changes were made to both the Windows Console Host (which is kicked off as a child process of ./ffxi-bootmod//boot.exe) and Windows Defender Anti-Virus. I've played around with the settings for the console host (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/orphan-topics/ws.11/mt427362(v=ws.11)) and haven't found any changes which fix the password entry glitch.

Nabutso would you be willing to help me out when you get a chance? Having some weird problems getting into the game.
