Hello!

Thanks for this amazing server! I've been trying to get FFXI running on Ubuntu. I followed the guide found here: https://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title ... using_WINE. I followed everything exactly. I did not have an existing imm32.dll.so in /usr/lib/wine however, so I just copied the downloaded one into that directory without making a backup. When I boot the game, I get the blue screen and it seems to retrieve my character information but when the initial loading bar is finished (when it's trying to go to the game menu), everything crashes with:

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can also give whatever debugging information is necessary to get this working! I'm excited to be able to play from Linux.

you need to do this:

Download imm32.dll.so https://github.com/bluffnix/ffxi-wine/b ... m32.dll.so

copy that file to /usr/lib32/wine/
[s](I copy to /usr/lib and /usr/lib64 just to be sure)[/s]

That should fix it.

Is the /usr/lib/wine folder supposed to already have imm32.dll.so in it to replace?

my only contents of this folder are these files

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 9596 Jan 24 04:24 wine
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 10256 Jan 24 04:24 wine64
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 115 Jan 24 04:24 wineapploader
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 351 Jan 24 04:24 wineserver
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 517788 Jan 24 04:24 wineserver32
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 547368 Jan 24 04:24 wineserver64
pwd
/usr/lib/wine

yeah you replace it with the one that's compiled for ffxi to work

OH and don't cp to /usr/lib64 cuz that will cause errors if you're not running on a 32bit WINEARCH (you should be though xD)

EDIT: You will also need to do this every single time you update wine. You could probably do something to keep it there permanently but then again it's good to have a method of resetting your install to defaults

I created a guide. I hope you have been able to get your install to work.
