I tried to log into the game the other day using Ashita like normal, but the game locked up on loading my character. When I tried to reload the game after closing it down, i noticed the launcher icon (I created a shortcut on my desktop) was missing, I also looked in the FFXI folder and found that the main .exe file was missing as well. I have tried getting Ashita2, and when i move the .exe, it goes missing as well. Every time i try to get a new .exe, it disappears as if it never existed. Even from a fresh install, the .exe is missing. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

It appears that i solved the issue, but i am not really sure how since when i tried this fix before, it did nothing. All I did was found another download source for the Ashita .exe and moved it into my Ashita folder.
