Unless something has changed recently, subcrafts does affect hq. Heres how it works.

On retail you needed the break the tiers for the subcrafts as well as the maincraft to hit the respective tier, ex. 30cc/15lc, you would need 41cc/26lc to be t1 hq.

On nasomi however, you only need to have the subcraft at the minimum lvl, ex. the same 30cc/15lc craft, you would need 41cc/15lc here to hit t1 hq. HOWEVER, day/moon/direction ALSO affects subcrafts here. So if you were trying to get the hq bonuses, you skill would be modified by -1 for both day, and moon, meaning you would need 43cc/17lc to hit that same t1 getting both day/moon hq% bonuses (because after day/mon modifiers, your skill is being treated s 41cc/15lc, which allows you to hit the minimum lc sub allowing you to hq.)

on the crafting information page, it says subcrafts don't effect HQ rate, im assuming that means as long as they're at or above cap. on my cloth char, i tested it before and it was definitely true, i was able to HQ kaginawa at tier3 with smithing 20. however, recently i've tried a few T3 crafts with subs and have been having drastically different results. im maybe 0/30 now on what should be a tier 3.

is this "working as intended" / a recent fix to reflect retail crafting?

I have not tested it extensively because it does not come up often for me. But the couple of times it has, the moon/day bringing my subcraft level below the recipe, seemed to effect the results. So like a 92lc, 60gs recipe done on new moon, darkday would bring your 60gs sub down to 58. Again, have not tested this extensively, but I have not experienced a HQ when my subcraft level is brought down below the recipe level by day/moon.

yea i think thats what happened to me too. my next question would be, would a subcraft be able to fall prey to the "zero gap" or whatever, example if the sub is smithing 20 and my sub falls to smithing 30 putting it at -10.3 or something

Yep, pretty much feels like your subcraft tier is directly affecting HQ now, instead of just needing to be at or above cap and having your main craft be higher tier.

Just did about 36 crafts and HQ'd twice (5-6%) where before I would average probably 33% HQ.

there are no "0 gaps" anymore. what a terrible bug that was.

subs are taken into account for HQ now. aka your HQ rate is only going to be as good as your worst HQ rate

a bug fix 4 years too late. not explicitly an economy change. its a bug thats been fixed

removing 0% hq tiers is also not exactly a benefit to old players who had to deal with it the whole time
