Rare/EX from NMs and sellable from BCNM makes the most sense.

Why? Because an EX item can only be used by one person. NMs can almost always be soloed, but BCNMs require a group.

That's my thought process, too. Nasomi is big on increasing group-play, thankfully, and this makes the most sense with that line of thinking. It attracts more people to these BCNMs.

he also wants to improve competition. non EX NM drops fits his vision more directly. he will not make this change regardless of poll results

I don't care if he makes the change or not, really, I just wanted to see the overall popular opinion.

I agree with the reasoning behind keeping the sellable versions from NMs. It keeps the competition fierce for people who want to camp NMs. Camping NMs is tedious but rewarding in its own way, and it just wouldn't really be FFXI anymore without it, as we saw with where the retail game went after this sort of stuff started changing.

competitive NM camping for gil was the greatest aspect of the game that was lost imo. its a slippery slope; first its bounding boots from LL and BLU unlocked (ruined ballista), then PCA from argus... next thing you know you're dancing sneak and invis onto yourself in an empty server again

This. But, since nas insists on having both, having them in the BCNM so that NMs are still worthwhile, is the 2nd best option.

I guess. Cheapening camping NM's, an activity essential to FFXI's era feel, is certainly not something we should be pursuing.

I'd prefer to not cheapen taking part in BCNM's either, but whatevers. If you have to pick one, I guess that's certainly better.
