As soon as I open boot.exe for my 2nd character, my first character’s game crashes : “boot.exe has stopped working.”

This is a new install on a new laptop running Windows 10.

I have looked for people with a similar problem or something like this on the wiki, but haven’t found a solution yet. I tried turning vsync off on the Nvidia control panel, but it didn’t help.

Thank you, that managed to help me get it working. However, some of that advice doesn't match what I saw while changing the settings:

Quote:
Launching two clients, or Game frozen, can hear sounds and move, but your screen stays still
Cause: User Access Control (UAC) is a Windows feature that helps prevent programs from running without your consent, but the manner in which it darkens the screen will induce the ffxi renderer to completely crash.
Fix: Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings > change the slider down to "do not dim my desktop".

Would be better as:

Quote:
Launching two clients, or Game frozen, can hear sounds and move, but your screen stays still
Cause: User Account Control (UAC) is a Windows feature that helps prevent programs from running without your consent, but the manner in which it darkens the screen will induce the ffxi renderer to completely crash.
Fix: Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings > change the slider down to "Never Notify".

I'm going to make some changes to that section, if I can.

Never Notify is a different setting which also works. Good edits.
