It's still too early to say for sure what the effect on HQs is, and it's going to be hard to test for the effect on skilling up.

I thought it was pretty cool that direction/moon had such a strong affect. Having knowledge of the elemental wheel and utilizing to optimize crafting was pretty cool.

I don't think T2s should have ever reached T3 HQ rates, though. That's a bit much.

The results are just my guess so far. Don't assume it's been removed yet. Let me get a few thousand samples spread out over tons of conditions to say for sure.

is that what you want? for me the old system was much more interesting. you could purposely manipulate the day/moon/direction to achieve different results such as higher difficulty for more skill ups, lower difficulty when you didnt want to pop mats, increased hq tiers, increased hq rate, etc. if you find removing all of that and no longer having to think before pressing the synth button to be more fun then i guess we just enjoy crafting differently.



uhh yes. I play on Nasomi for a server that reflects the game around 2005-2006. My bad, I didn't mean to speak for those that don't for sure. I meant what I want.

Personally I enjoyed the crafting system we had. It was interesting and took a level of understanding to truly maximize your craft skills, all with the randomness that made it fun. It's not my server though, so we'll adapt and move on. I think new players will end up being affected most here, simply because a lot of popular mid-range items, like Scorpion Harness +1, Sniper's Ring +1, Amemet Mantle +1, and Haubergeon +1, will go up by quite a large amount.

On this point, any input about changes without hundreds, if not thousands, of synths over all the moon phases, days, and directions is simply inaccurate and unhelpful. Especially with regards to T1 rates. Saying you had a low T1 HQ rate on a sample size of 50 is ridiculous and anyone drawing conclusions from this is crazy. Give me hundreds of synths in controlled conditions before even attempting to quantify what has changed.

The point is to provide all the data, and I said like 3 times that it's prelim and doesn't say much yet.

Strange of you to say that it doesn't mean much since I don't have much data yet, but you already throw in the towel and agree with my conclusions.

I don't think you've done enough to conclusively say anything yet. My linkshell has done well over 1000 synths and we still know very little. Nowhere in my post did I explicitly agree with anything you said. Please do not put words in my mouth, and I will not be responding to you again, considering how you've spoken to me in the past. Not trying to derail a thread here.

By this logic, Mog Sack/Satchel are also "total trash". We could argue all day about which non-retail aspects have more impact on the server, but the bottom line is Nasomi is not a complete-retail experience, and the "everything needs to match retail" argument gets used too often here and derails threads that actually have good discussion going on.

That being said, I'm a big fan of transparency and appreciate all the data you've collected so far as we try to figure out what the new system is because, like it or not, we're probably stuck with it.

I plan to start recording synth data and contributing as well. So far the gut feeling I get is that the moon/day/direction no longer matter, as you suggest. The HQ rates, however, don't seem to even come close to matching the 10/25/50% T1/T2/T3 rates anymore. T1's don't seem too far off, but T2/T3 seem significantly lower to me.

some eras were dominated by believing the world was flat. That didn't make the world flat. You can still believe in myths all you want, I prefer the game to not be controlled by them. Again, just a personal belief.
