I have a question about community chat: is there perhaps a Matrix channel? I see there is a Discord, but that's a surveillance platform If there isn't, I really recommend it! It can even be linked with the discord chat with stuff like this:

And could also possibly link with the java chat and maybe even in-game shouts!

Theres no community-wide discord. If someone invited you to one, it's unauthorized and against the rules.

naschat is an IRC channel.

There is no global chat ingame either and there is no intention for one. Connecting one to the game chat to try to form a global chat would be considered using an unauthorized 3rd party program.

From searching the forum, it looks like connecting outside a browser is done through:

channel: #nasomi

Not a fan of it either, as it's fairly bloated for what IRC can basically offer along with that reason.

Most of the semi-serous or heckaround shells will have their own Discords.

Makes sense! IRC should work perfectly fine for my needs I can always proselytize for libre decentralized voice chat software in the future if I end up joining one of those
