Getting the following when after attempting to log in with my UN and PW:

Successfully logged in as PShelley87!0009:err:ole:COMPOBJ_DllList_Add couldn't load in-process dll L"Z:\\usr\\local\\Cellar\\wine\\3.0_2\\NasomiXI\\SquareEnix\\PlayOnlineViewer\\patchfiles\\PlayOnlineViewer\\viewer\\com\\polcore.dll"
0009:err:ole:create_server class {3501f5dd-7894-42df-866a-a2b6527d8049} not registered
0009:fixme:ole:CoGetClassObject CLSCTX_REMOTE_SERVER not supported
0009:err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {3501f5dd-7894-42df-866a-a2b6527d8049} could be created for context 0x17

Failed to initialize instance of polcore!
Closing...0009:fixme:vcruntime:__telemetry_main_return_trigger (0x0)

Not sure why it couldn't load the polcore.dll file. Running on El Capitan OS. Let me know if further information is needed.

Ty

Did you use the newest nasomi installer?

Perhaps the installer didnt register the DLLs. Or, you moved your game files after the install.

Try running it again? That filepath doesn't look right. Unless you chose it specifically.

Yea, thought about that, but tried it manually via the terminal:

wine regsvr32 "/users/username/.wine/Program Files/NasomiXI/SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViewer/patchfiles/PlayOnlineViewer/viewer/com/polcore.dll"
regsvr32: Failed to load DLL '/users/username/.wine/Program Files/NasomiXI/SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViewer/patchfiles/PlayOnlineViewer/viewer/com/polcore.dll'

Seems to be something with the actual dll - not sure if it's corrupt/didn't install properly or what.

Yea, didn't change the file path from the default path the installer chose - just looks a bit weird on Mac.

Any further advice?

No clue. We'll see if someone else knows.

Resurrected this thread because I finally got FFXI working on my Mac. Using Homebrew, I reinstalled wine and set it to a 32 bit prefix using the following command line in the terminal:

$ WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine wine wineboot

I then replaced the imm32 dll file with the one from Nasomi's wiki page in the path:

/Users/username/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32

Everything worked smoothly then. You get a few fixme errors when you boot up, but they are negligible and did/do not seem to impact gameplay.

These steps should work for El Capitan and High Sierra operating systems. Thought this might be useful to others. The wiki states to set wine prefix to 32 bit, but doesn't really say how.

Just wanted to say thanks! Your instructions worked great. I did run into an issue where it wouldn't let me log in, but it was because it didn't like my password. So if anybody else isn't able to get it working using these instructions, try changing your password and see if that works.
