Anyone familiar with the coeurl/wolf camp in zi'tah for ~44-49? I can't remember the exactly level range, but I do remember it being amazing.

Interesting.. I'll admit: I didn't know about that page. Thanks.

Edit: I'm not great at formatting, but.... the wiki makes it look like each camp is only good for one level, lol.

Yeah, I'd say it's more like the level you should start trying to fight those mobs. There is a small note before the grid that does say +/- 1 level, so while relative, I'd say they're fairly spot on especially with the flexibility of sync'ing.

You can stay at a camp for more than a few levels like the previous level ranges indicated. It all depends on kill speed and number of people.

Meeshra above was in a party with me at the lv 12 lizards in the dunes - we stayed until 15 even though we could've left for the 14 camp at 14. The exp was just fine, kills were a perfect speed for our party at 14 at the 12 lizards.

A level range would pressure people into moving on when they shouldn't.

I'd say the inclusion of a very competent BRD made our lives much easier! :D But if you happen to find camps that have lower competition to boot, you can usually chain weaker mobs more quickly than fighting IT++.

This is probably one of my favorite aspects of FFXI is that there is no one right answer and is plenty of flexibility for any configuration of party instead of a hard MIN/MAX leveling path.

Edit: Typo

I really didn't realize this was the type of response I was getting, lol. Level ranges are used for a very obvious reason. Some camps have mobs that support 5-6 levels, and some camps have a gap of 3 levels. If you're at 35, looking for a camp, the Wiki would make it seem that Zi'Tah is actually probably too low, when really... it's probably just right.

It doesn't need a level range, I'm just saying.. the chart is missing a large part of the functionality that this post currently has... So as someone who is never going to update that Wiki, because I know where to camp, I'd go back to saying that this should by sticky'd lol

I made a quick edit to the original formatting the other day and had to suddenly run off. I made the Lvl into Levels.

I think we should post when the target mobs stop being Tough and chains stop being worthwhile.

We need folks to pop in, make a quick edit with their findings.

Also, the notes should include things like Need Poisona, Need Silena, etc.

For a level range, you need twice as much information. Also, mobs can be Tough and still not be worthwhile (getting under 100 exp a kill!?)

Since there is no way to determine what is "standard" for stopping, we will use the level the mobs start giving under 200 exp, and add 1. That's the earliest you -should- show up to a camp, unless you have a particularly strong party or strategy. Alternatively, we don't add the +1. We should decide now and then adjust the table.
