I think most people should learn how to play each role independently first. Get the basics down before even considering it.

Then make good macros.

Agreed. There are enough people on this server now that we should be moving toward parties full of players, not just characters. Just because you're allowed to do something on this server doesn't mean you have to.

I started a few weeks ago, leveled a Taru (Sveni) with the mage jobs and noticed a lot of dualboxers, so decided to try it myself. It’s the best. I would never try to play them both in a single party, but Sveni tags along when I join exp parties with my Mithra (Mocha). Sveni was super useful in dunes, after dunes I’ve been focusing on my main except in emergencies, like sleeping adds and killing them later, or healing when tank is in red and healer is low on mp, but that doesn’t happen nearly as often once you get out of dunes. Ah, dunes, /sigh.

Also, I’m not very far into the missions, but having to do them over again is such a pain. I agree with the idea that if you’re gonna dualbox you should start early, see if you like it or not, and keep your characters on the same page so you don’t have to play catch-up.
