I think pretty much every player has their good and bad days. Except kubisnaxx. He's the end of days.

For the most part people want to be helpful, but when it comes to you or them in a competative environment such as ffxi, anyone will almost always pick themselves.

It wouldn't be ffxi without the competition, and with competition on occasion comes hurt feelings. Overall I would rate it as a positive experience. No one will hold your hand though, you get out of it what you put into it.

In general - If you need help.. Asking a few folks will get it taken care of.

I was about to say the same but was beat. Most people are willing to help. The first help I ever received on this server was from a TS member as well. Then I had an Yes member help with some of my subjob quest items. He was just walking through saw me at 18 with no subjob and offered. Finally, Rockfisch who posted above has been a HUGE help for me since then. He has helped me get LB1, all my AF, and this week while he doesn't know it yet but he will be helping me get LB2! Thanks Rock!

I think some people overlook the fact that things like AF and LB were meant to be ran with other people needing it. Obviously, a 75 can have you stand just inside a zone and get all your LB Items or AF drops.. and many will do that for you if you ask. (Including me.. Send a /tell, and if I'm not doing an event.. I'll help you out).

I'd encourage you to find some other folks that need it, though. You'll find the people you do it with being longtime friends going forward.

That's why I enjoy access to level-capped content. It's true that it's not perfect, so many things (ex: CoP fights) are not as hard as they were, but they still require organization and input typically from several people who need it. And even then, what with the hundreds of new accounts recently, there is a constant supply of people needing missions, etc.

Endgame is more or less the way it was on retail. There used to be more respect between shells when the population was smaller (Hey guys, today is your turn to kill Nidhogg!), but with the influx we've definitely come full circle to what classic HNM retail competition was like.

When you're in an endgame LS, the best thing you can do is not read too much into the hive mind of despising another shell, understand that there is a level of competition to it, and don't take anything personally. You have a right to dislike X player for any reason, but don't generalize it to the entire group. As long as we're refraining from any form of bigotry/racism/homophobia/doxing, then I'd say it's all fair and part of the reason we enjoy endgame competition.

One more thing. It's a joke right now due to the claim system.

I'd say this is an accurate assessment of endgame linkshells vs others. There are probably 30+ people in each endgame LS and people hate groups based on a few people they've interacted with.
