What's the deal with the constant deletion of threads? There was recently a forum thread about the auto claim system that had 20-25 pages of great feedback and research put into it. If people are being toxic, then moderate the thread, but completely nuking a thread is a total joke.

That thread had run it's course. All deleted threads are archived for mods to still view. Welcome to Nasomi.

Since it was mentionned Nasomi will be taking a look at the auto-claim system, and because the thread contained the explanation of something that could be called an exploit in the event that Nasomi diagnoses there is indeed a problem, I would suppose this is why the thread was nuked, so people stopped talking about it here during the investigation.

I don't think the thread was nuked because of the banter between endgame linkshells, it was kinda tame unless I missed something.

It’s beyond ridiculous these posts keep getting deleted. If something can be edited or taken out mods should be doing that. 25 pages of info and discussion deleted because people’s feelings got hurt.

Hi,

We have certain things that we were instructed to follow as a Mod. When a thread hits one of those no-no things it goes bye bye. In the days where I looked away from a few posts they end up getting toxic due to instigators and people that feed trolls by endagding them and not ignoring them. Threads are deleted and cannot be seen unless you are Nasomi level Admin.

When they gets too toxic or is just too much hassle for me (and others I'd imagine) to go through and edit/delete all of the single posts and threads deletion is the go to. I didn't have the hours it would take to edit every post and add the comments to each forum post and the over all forum accounts and at the point where I checked back in, it was no longer constructive. The last one I locked and edited only had 14 pages and it was a few hours of my personal time spent for perspective.

TL;DR - Want threads not to go away? Be respectful to one another, period. Keep drama and personal attacks off threads that the community actually wants to remain.

Instead, please consider reporting people that are starting drama instead of feeding the flame wars or feeding the attention of those people that crave it like it was a drug. That way you are not part of the problem and instead are doing something to keep the community a positive one.

As a note, this is one of the posts where I should be deleting and walking away. So I'm likely not going to say the above again the next time and I'll just delete it.
