fair enough, thanks for the clarity and explanation.
I can certainly see how people involved in the process could exploit the playground. Nobody wants that.
I certainly don't know the nature of the code to such a degree to offer assistance, but wonder if outsourcing to just some standard coders with no interest at all in FFXI would be an option.

"nor ever will accept even donations."
I actually popped back here to follow up my post on the idea of even just offering donations. I certainly don't understand how someone would come to a legacy server then attempt to speed things up by getting free stuff or intel..sounds backwards.
I would certainly offer a monthly donation if there was a method with which to do it. Some incentives for the whole server would be interesting as well, as long as they don't have any game bending attributes attached. More like the silly hats created by SE over the years after 10 months of 5$ donations, etc. Something to recognize assistance but not simply buying anything of game breaking value, only minor.
Totally understand why he wouldn't want to go this way and the potential pitfalls that could be associated. I think, like mostly everyone here, we just have a particular love for this era of gaming and would love to see it executed as perfectly as possible. If I wanted people snapping their fingers and getting OP gear I'd just go back to abyssea.
edit: just pointing out the fact I used the word "certainly" way too much in this post.
