I've been noticing since Nasomi tweaked the Ele Wheel, we do more max damage per cast, but it's also eating 3/4 and full (single digit damage) resists significantly more often. Whether I'm soloing VTs with near BiS gear, or in an Exp Party fighting appropriate level mobs. Being resisted as often as I have been is causing Ninja to lose the entire reason I wanted to play it. As a Hybrid-style DD.

Yes, I am aware the Enfeebling portion of the Wheel hasn't been working since days of old, but I'm capped skill, have skill+ gear, and still eating heavy resists nearly every cast. When I don't get resisted, I do ~120 damage @72 or lv63 in Boyahda Tree doing 5, 22, or 44, leaning more so to the low-end of the spectrum of damage when unresisted damage is 88/89, which isn't even fully geared for the level, was forgetting 2 pieces of Int Gear, not even Skill Gear, so that's irrelevant to resist rates.

Anybody else been noticing above average resist rates on Ele Wheel since the "adjustments"? Please post your findings, DD Nin has always been the more fun route, but when the primary damage source just... never lands... it's discouraging to even bother.

I think ninjutsu works well up to about 50. Somewhere around there or shortly after it definitely drops off. The numbers don't change much anymore while the hp of mobs goes way up. I think the need to use a staff hinders your ability to do damage with your katanas. With a good dd setup, melee nin is way stronger.

A melee NIN will not beat an ele wheel NIN while leveling unless they have a KC(Even then I’m not sure). I believe my Tree numbers were 160-170ish per cast and I would hardly ever get resisted. Chat staff is probably the main help for not being resisted as much.

I've partied with one ele wheel NIN that didn't make me think it was all a collosal waste of time.

I wish I'd just kicked all the others I partied with. Post 60, with Jin, I doubt even that guy would've kept up with a well geared DD NIN.

Pretty sure you are referring to me playing on Zarian lol. I remember you being extra mad that I didn’t have war sub after inviting me

I don't remember the name, that sounds right though. I wasn't extra mad, I was just trolling you. I was a BRD.. You all would die, and I'd just warp out, if it didn't work out.

you did great! I just don't know that even with your gear, which was basically BiS, would have kept up after NIN gets great DD gear and Jin at later XP parties like in Bibiki.

Could be wrong, I guess.

I also believe that party was pre-NIN changes.

I play almost exclusively Nin/Drg juggling Auto-Attacks with Ele-Wheel. But that isn't the point of this post, it's the oddly high Resist Rates in general. I can throw some really good DPS with Ele-Wheel IF IT DOESN'T GET RESISTED EVERY SINGLE CAST. Which is the point you all are seeming to miss entirely. I've tanked Nin/Drg without a Thf because Ele-Wheel Damage Output + HQ(BiS'd) Katanas for the level. I've been doing that since lv40. Prior to the changes, I saw more unresisted/halfresisted casts. Now I see Full & 3/4 Resists more than anything. Can't even go and solo T-VT Goldfish out in Sea anymore because they resist everything, and I've picked up all but 1 piece of Ninjutsu Skill gear.

I've also heard of a player doing 600+ damage San casts, and frankly, me doing ~130 damage at lv73 is pretty nice when Katanas still do ~100 on a Crit to VTs. So the damage is respectable, but the resist rates are just absurd. It'd be good damage IF they weren't resisted 90% of the time now. Which again, is the literal point of this post.
