No, the abuse was happening by groups manaburning 30+ mobs at a time and just rotating syncs in to get 75 jobs.

This also happened in Valkurm Dunes with the lizard camps.

You're fighting a losing battle. Nas has stated multiple times the sync will not be changed because it is working as intended.

Edit: You "just started playing on nasomi". I don't think you're in a position to argue what is for the betterment of the server when you haven't even played for a significant period of time.

I’ve come around and can actually say that I think Nas was right, even as someone that was fairly vocal against it for a while. As the server has grown, I think it’s done exactly what it was designed to do. I like it and no longer find it an issue to make parties with it.

However, as stated, this has been brought up and discussed, over and over. It's unfortunately not likely to change.

People already deal with enough congestion in the dunes since no one wants to kill anything but lizards. And now we want to allow a 30 level sync to bring even more people to the dunes. If anything removing the level sync will open up camps for everyone lol.

Except they do lol. Go into dunes now and look at how crowded it is. Now imagine that with people using that to get to 75. It was a nightmare. I'm totally fine with sync being as it is right now.

Convince your friends to wait for you or to start another job that they only level with you. If they won't do either of these things, the problem isn't the sync cap. The problem is that your friends care more about getting exp than they care about playing with you.

A lot of people had a lot of negative things to say about the system when we had 200 players and 20 sync, and so it was changed to a dynamic system that had a much wider range when pop was low, but smaller when it grew.

A lot of people still had a lot of negative things to say about the system when we were barely hitting the upper range, and it was changing rapidly forcing parties to no longer be able to sync when 10 minutes ago they could.

But these days we have several times more people, and the system isn't rapidly switching between ranges, because we're so far above the highest one.

There can still be problems if our pop drops, but that's unlikely. Level sync was one thing nas was right about all along.

Agreed. I think it's fine as is. Coming from another private server with nearly a year and a half play time on it, let me tell you after it went through some changes it lead to a very sharp decline in "acceptable" exp camps. An uncapped level sync will just lead to the majority of players finding what the most efficient camps and level ranges are, and rarely straying from that path. It made it to where people would nearly exclusively party in just two zones from level 30 - 75. In fact, the limited adaptive level sync system and no FoV books was one of the primary reasons I came to this server. Not saying removing the limit would lead to as dramatic of a change here since there will likely never be FoV book exp(thank god) but I would guarantee the number and variety of exp camps would decrease for sure, and that makes the game grow very stale very quickly for some people. Be careful what you wish for OP.

We still can play between RL friends by keeping 3-5 jobs leveled in a staggered way. It's not ideal and sometimes one of us 6 has to play in a job that (s)he didn't want to play much, but it works. Nearly everyone can use WHM, WAR or THF as a subjob, and some of the advanced jobs can be useful too (NIN, BST).
