Once you've leveled up further, it takes more time to get more levels apart too. Even if your friends have several days of exp over you, at lv 60 that isn't gonna mean over 10 levels.

Alot of the people voting no should state their opinion on why its a no, because I find it completely illogical to say that removing the cap isn't a good idea. There are Pros and Cons to every situation and this one in particular has way more Pros than cons. I have listed most of them. The only pro I can see from keeping the level sync the way it is, is that it gives longevity to the server. Meaning it will take longer for you to level by making it harder to make groups. The fact that if I wanted to bring a new friend of mine to the server and I can't even exp with them out weighs any benefits of having a cap. I think the game should be a challenge but the level sync cap isn't a challenge, it's only an inconvenience.

Well maybe if my friends and I were level 60 there wouldn't be an issue. It takes a long time to reach level 60 and a decent time to hit level 40. I would say exp slows down around level 40. It would be better to be able to play with my friends whenever I want rather than have to sit stagnant and wait. When SE removed the level sync cap it was one of the best ideas they ever came up with. Could you imagine how perfect the game would have been if there was level sync to begin with. Because before there was no level sync period. It was a great innovation and perfect the way it was. Level sync was never designed to have a cap. That defeats the whole purpose of it.

No.. he was wrong and still is.

At no point in retail was there a dynamic sync range, there was a time before level sync and a time after. He should pick one if he's aiming to accurately emulate retail. (which I've heard was a goal of this server?)

Better still he should go though https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/The_History_of_Final_Fantasy_XI and pick an exact date. Then new and potential new players wouldn't have to ask and then test what is and isn't implemented.. although that'd require undoing the rest of the custom changes he's made along with the sync range. So I don't see that happening ever.

Why can't u exp with them? U have no classes on ur main or ur alt level 1? I think you just want to use the class u alrdy leveled to level with him. This post is more selfish, than it is actually healthy for the server. Do I disagree that it gets annoying when I'm seeking? No sometimes I do wish there was a larger sync range but I can absolutely see the cancer that would come if the sync cap was removed and I'm forced to play this entire games in dunes or other lower camps. I think I'd walk away real quick.

But he's not wrong, the server doesn't have enough ppl to support no sync at all, but the completely uncapped sync promotes cancer. The sync cap we have now promotes some flexibility without it being overly cancerous

This is completely false, because before level sync even existed it would just be people being a certain level and you having to search for people withing 2 levels of yourself to build a party. Which was HORRIBLE design. Then later SE innovated and came up with level sync which was absolutely genius. There was no cap you could level sync to whatever, whenever. I remember coming back to the game and being amazed how square came up with this idea. It was truly revolutionary for xping. I don't have fond memories of having to wait 4 hours for a party. All my best memories are those I did with my friends. Oddly enough that was post level sync. Not having a level sync kinda promotes you not playing with the same people back in the day because its extremely hard to stay within 2 levels of each other

Dude I'm not saying remove level sync entirely. I'm saying remove the cap so I can play with whoever I want when I want. Mainly meaning my friends.

I'm aware what ur asking, I clearly said removing it competely wouldn't be good, but neither is making it uncapped. the way it is now is flexible enough. Again play another level 1 class with ur friend. I'm sure u don't have every single class leveled up yet.
