No gray area here. I've made this comparison before, in fact, you probably remember it Wolf... were all the BLMs on this server circumventing game mechanics because magic was dealing more damage than it should in general? No.
Stuff that is being worked on that is widespread and not particularly exploitable: not circumventing. For all intents and purposes, those -are- the game mechanics (intended at one point just so stuff works, unintended in the long term). Examples: magic a year ago, silencing/sleeping many monsters that should be immune, cure 5 doesn't generate enmity if you don't have any enmity, PLD's old insane block rate with aegis, TH, dynamis, etc... Stuff that happened to work a bit off because nas prioritized it working before working correctly.
Particular, specific, powerful uses due to it's unfixed status (never intended to work this way): circumventing. Examples: meteorite a few weeks ago, blue magic on bulls during the event, mazurka not dropping in combat, dualbox HELM, killing mobs from inside terrain so you're unreachable. Stuff not meant to ever work that way.
rmackner, things are always getting fixed. It's natural that the people who got to do stuff that was a bit broken end up continuing to play - everyone on the server would be banned otherwise. Even you now are benefiting from things you don't know could be fixed in the future. The line is very clear for nas.
Not to start an argument because I pretty much agree with you here, but the mazurka thing isn't really quite so obvious to me. You wouldn't necessarily know that it is supposed to drop under certain conditions unless someone told you. You can really only expect people to go by what the game actually does. The other stuff you mentioned besides meteorite(not at all interested in that debate) is either in the rules or just straight common sense.
Mazurka to me is more gray. Especially when its been reported to him and doesn't seem like that hard a thing to fix. Nasomi always claims things are working as intended. So at what point does him ignoring issues = the intended functionality? He doesn't communicate with us anymore. He could put out a message out saying "Mazurka is currently being worked on. For the time being, if you are spotted using Mazurka improperly, it will be considered an illegal exploit." Maybe that's unreasonable thing to ask of him. Maybe 2 sentences is too many. Idk. KB was easily kited and held again yesterday only because of Mazurka. They would have died without it. That isn't to call anyone out. That's to say this is a thing thats been brought to his attention. Do something.
