Anyone else play the game with one? I picked one up but after a basic setup process and setting up gamepad config, it still does not work in game.

I use a ps4 controller, using the gamepad config tool(or whatever the app is, not at PC atm to verify) I haven't had an issue with it. I've definitely seen forum threads here though about controller issues/setup/troubleshooting. Nice sig tho, both versions made me laugh

Yeah I normally use a PS4 controller and it works great, but for some reason a typical PC controller has little options to troubleshoot. I'll probably just pick up an xbox controller if nobody can give some solid tips. And thanks, lol.

What kind of controller?
I personally use an Xbox one pad which works great beyond the triggers not working, don't even have problems main healing with one.
If you're having problems make sure Nasomi Config can actually detect the pad, then use "Alternate Setup E (E)" to see if the buttons work, if so change the button layout for what works for you.

In the setup the controller is 100% working. When I test in the config it works perfectly fine. When I launch FFXI, it's completely inactive.

I am also having trouble getting my controller to be recognized by Nasomi Config. Anyone have a guide or tips on getting the controller working?

Okay so I got the controller to be responsive in game. What I did was launched both gamepad configs (ToolsEU and ToolsUS) with 'run as admin' using right click. The problem I'm currently at is that I can't get the bottom triggers to work which really blows as I use those for macros. I'll update if I find a solution to that.

Or if anyone has some tips on getting the trigger buttons to work please feel free to share. It would be much appreciated!

I used the inputmapper software and uncheck exclusive mode. I can find the links when I get home but everything works including triggers and track pad (responsive outside of xi only).

Download the Input mapper: https://inputmapper.com/downloads/inputmapper-1-5
and HIDGUARDIAN: https://inputmapper.com/downloads/download/5-tools/76-inputmapper-hidguardian

this should configure your DS4 controller and enable the bumpers and triggers as well as the touchpad. Keep in min the touchpad will only work outside of XI.

Fixed, thanks for everyone's help. I have another issue that some may have an idea for which I'll repost in a new thread.
