So I guess that bug in the ship where you get aggrod by pugils / skeletons inside the cargo bay upon departure is already known. I usually advise people not to board alone but instead wait for a high level player, who can take care of the mobs if needed.
Well today I took the damned ship today and sure enough got hit by several crossbones and a ship wight right after departure (only the wight aggrod and was easily soloable by RDM48 but that's not the point). Already used to it.

But here's where it gets even weirder - There was another player who boarded the ship with me. As I was fighting the wight I did not see any trace of him and after I was done with the wight I did a /sea area and found only myself. I then talked to him via /tell and he told me he's on board the ship deck fishing and did not run into any skeletons or mobs at all. It seems as though he ended up on a separate ship instance even though we boarded together. I only saw him again after arrival at Mhaura (sure enough he arrived at the same time as I).

Please - WTF? Did it ever happen to any of you?
Does it mean that even the tactic of having a high level player protect you doesn't always work because that player may just end-up in another instance while you get whacked to death? Does it mean that low level players can never ensure their safety when taking the goddamn ship?

You're better off switching to a level one job if you have one to board it.

Yes this is already another known bug. There are 2 ships (normal, pirates). Even if you leave Selbina/Mhaura at the same time, are in the same party, etc, you don't always end up on the same ship.

Yeah, that was also on my tips for new players list, but I was under the impression that there are alternatives. Apparently there aren't.

So at least in theory it means that you can have a dozen other players all level 75 boarding with you and still end up alone with the pirates?
Then basically what Seliox says is correct right? If your level is not high enough to solo the pirates (or just have them all be TW) then you have to switch to a level 1 job before boarding.
