I had 2 EXP parties in Boyadah Tree this weekend where I was solo healing RDM with no support for a good portion of it, and we managed just fine with very minimal downtime (because our pullers didn't let me have any downtime lol). This was on Crawlers (spam Poison and Cocoon, so I needed to constantly stand up to Poisona and Dispel) and Flies (Poison and Cursed Sphere, so Poisona and occasionally Barwatera). It was definitely stressful for me lol, but we didn't have any problems.

I would certainly prefer a Support or a WHM, but its not impossible without.

Then you must be /WHM if you have Poisona.

What's your point

One way or another you'll need WHM-only spells.

And anyway according to this logic an EXP party consisting of 6 RDMs and nothing else should also be fine.

Dude, just let it go- you are arguing straw men at this point and you sound silly. The fact is that over the level range we are discussing, an average RDM is still better than a good WHM and an average WHM is breaking your xp chains due to mana issues.

With BRD RDM and DDx4 or DDx3 and tank, the chain breaker is generally mob availability. Switch that RDM to a WHM and, in my experience, the party efficiency will go down. Convert is just that good.

I'd argue that a good whm with a cor or brd is just as efficient as a good rdm/whm without a cor or brd. You don't have to keep your mp up infinitely, just until the party decides to take 5. Also because of how rdm is perceived to be amazing on this server, it attracts a lot of terrible players.

If the WHM is good then yeah, I'd agree with that. But I have met more sub-par WHM than good ones on Nasomi. I'd still take an average RDM over an average WHM because I feel the margin of error is higher for the RDM, not because of player skill but b/c of the strength of Convert.

I still recall a WHM who thought Regen stacked and so all he did was cast Regen over and over until he ran out of MP, after which he did not even proceed to rest.

The point is that a RDM put in that position can be terrible and (probably) still maintain MP indefinitely because of Convert/Refresh. A WHM has to play VERY well, and thats a gamble you have to take. Ontop of that RDM can refresh PLDs/DRKs etc with MP while they maintain songs, they can dispel when a BRD is pulling the next mob in order to keep the chain going, they can enfeeble more reliably. The list can go on. "Sustaining MP through an indefinite chain" is not the only thing that seperates the two jobs in a TP burn scenario.
