The thing about this happenstance is, not the fact that he bought them all to sell at a later date for profit, but the fact that it was Deadwing that did it. The guy who "stepped out of endgame" because he was working on the server to well, retain his image. It simply looks bad, from every standpoint, to have someone who works on the server to be doing this. It causes a lot of feel-bads, and guess what, even though it's not against the rules, illegal, whatever you call it, image and nuance is everything, especially when dealing with real human people.

Everyone in a position of visibility is held to a higher standard. That's how real life works and it's no exception here. That's why people are pissed.

So people doing things that aren't against the rules and everybody agrees are allowed somehow looks bad now? Are you sure you aren't just a little biased? I'm just trying to understand, because from an outsider's perspective (which apparently I seem to have a lot around here) it just looks like you guys don't like Deadwing and no matter what he does, it will always be "wrong."

I'm not sure I can make help you understand more than what I've already posted. Personally, I don't care that he's flipping pcc, I'm blm onry and have enough gil to make a bed in pccs if I so desired. But I understand why people are mad.

You guys are missing the point I was making a little later in the post. Argus was broken, everyone knows that. Because he was broken he was exploited and a ton of PCC's were granted when they shouldn't have been.

Argus was then fixed but the exploited PCC's were still there and being used to inflate market.



He had 40 of them. Under normal Argus conditions you are lucky to see one let alone 2. This exploit left the PCC cheap with 1 person taking advantage of it who just happens to be deadwing, which I think is irrelevant. Nasomi took the correct action by removing the exploited excess PCC from the AH, and the people that got theirs cause of this are lucky to still have theirs honestly. SE on a retail server would have cleaned house as they should. Obviously Nasomi saw that it was an issue or he wouldn't have done a thing because I perceive that is exactly how he is, action if necessary. I have no issue with someone cornering a market in order to increase their money, but do it properly, not from a glitch.

Deadwing bought all of these with gil, which put gil into the economy and removed "excess, illegitimate" Peacock Charms. From what I can tell he didn't actually sell any of these at some kind of inflated price. (Doesn't look like Bagholder has sold any unless something is wrong with web auction, looks like he's only bought them.) It looks more like a subtle attempt to balance the market instead of handling it in a "gilpocalypse" way.

Seems to me like this is a good thing, I would much rather exploits be repaired this way than to see the server suffer a huge gil wipe.

So no one is mentioning this but, there are 0 on AH now, 40 magically gone, isn't that going to up the price of the PCC?

I mean seams like everyone went crazy buying them after this posted now there are none, so i dunno i guess this was the final strike against PCC and making it less affordable for newer players...

I think its funny players suggested having them taken away and gifted in some one shape or form, guess I am glad I got mine 2 months ago, how high do you think PCC will go up now that there are none available? lol
