Ok I'm slowly getting back up to speed from being gone over 10 years,

My question is how hard is it to get groups from lvl 10 onwards? I know certain classes will have an easier time as with most MMOs.

after talking to a few friends, I might have 3 or 4 coming back to play.

Also second question, how healthy is the economy? I know I did pretty well with smithing back in the day. Enough to keep me fairly wealthy, I mined most of my mats back then. Is that viable in this server?

I wouldn't count on getting an invite until at least 12, though 14 will be more likely. If you roll a healer, you will actually get less invites early on too because everyone and their grandmother will have a PL for their party (though not always the case).

Economy has a lot of stuff on the MB. Though unless you are willing to farm, gil is a bit tedious early on. But yes that is viable I believe.

I've been playing on Nasomi since April and would say I agree with Spincrusha.
Get to level 12 before going to the dunes but after that exp parties have been plentiful at least till 37 which is my highest level job atm.
His comment about being a healer is definitely true, last week I was seeking as a WHM in Qufim Island while 5 other WHMs were seeking from level 20 to 30. Took a couple hours to get a party.

I haven't done any crafting since starting but the economy seems plenty healthy.
A lot of farming is required though to get good gear.

Get yourself to level 12 and then you'll start getting parties, be sure to solo or do something else in meantime while you're seeking a party as it'll be boring standing around (Supply quests are a must!).

Any job can get an invite especially at low levels, every party needs someone to heal/tank/kill stuff regardless of what they are. Some people might be put off by your lack of a subjob but that's never stopped me from inviting people.

Also if your leveling a job, a good place to solo to 15-16 from lv 10 is Dangruf Wadi, can even duo there. Its faster exp than standard dunes parties and can pass the time when you are seeking for grp.

Actually with a PL you don't really need mages whatsoever, a tank and two melee DDs is pretty much all it takes. Still mages do get invites, just takes a while or you can just form your own pt (that's what I did when I had same-job competitors).

It will take you awhile, but you can get to 100 crafting just sitting at the AH these days. High level job not required. A LOT of things sell at a profit instead of at cost or below cost in the mid range of crafting. If you supply your own mats, it's just all profit.

This, convenience drives the market, it is NOT very competitive, people who's time is worth more than your own will buy the effort you put into making lower materials. You can basically ride this concept all the way.
