I don't know if that's out of choice or just your personality type but I highly suggest you stop posting on these forums as if you have this vast wealth of knowledge when things you are posting are provably wrong. This is one of the bigger WotLK WoW private servers and it took me all of 30s of googling to find it. A bit longer and I could bring ones from Vanilla, BC, Cata, Mists, etc.

You(Dachyn) are quickly becoming a person I want nothing to do with on Nasomi and someone I will actively try to crush when the opportunity arises.

This is getting way off topic of FFXI, but there are several really popular WoW private servers each of which has a population that probably surpasses that of Nasomi.

Also, in the case of the WoW private server scene, it's all about playing the newest server and people re-roll on whatever is the new trending server like every 2 months. Getting to cap in WoW is nothing compared to XI, so it's really not a good comparison.

I've been on two of those private WoW servers and honestly, I won't bother anymore until Bliz releases WoW-Classic. They were plagued with RMT, botting and harassment issues, not to mention very nasty internal conflict among the staff, which both times ended up in the server imploding on itself.

Nasomi is only by himself doing all that job, yet he does better policing AND his server is immune to internal conflict (unless he develops a split personality). I don't believe Square-Enix would do any better at managing a FFXI server because they're just not as "tough on crime", but we still have the problem where Nasomi has little time to devote to content update. I'm glad we have this place, anyway. Cheers.

I once played a WoW private server with FIFTEEN THOUSAND PEOPLE online at ONCE. And that was just ONE of their several servers.

Of course there is RMT there. It's widely more popular. RMT is less of an issue on smaller population servers. However, the more popular Nasomi or any other servers gets, the more RMT there will be. I mean it's already changed a lot, this is on the front page of Nasomi:

The WoW private server scene is actually one of the most embarrassing though, despite being leaps and bounds more popular than any other MMO. I've been playing on private servers since before FFXI even existed and WoW has had by far the most drama.

Offline FFXI = Not FFXI. There is no offline FFXI planned anyway, not sure where you got this. Maybe you're thinking of FFXI Grandmasters, which has been running since 2015, is an online mobile game, and in Japanese only.
Mobile FFXI = Not FFXI. Also made by Nexon, so beware (we're all really surprised with how well Maple Story 2 has done though, not to mention their *gasp* server stability). However mobile automatically means pay to win, insane micro transactions, overly simple gameplay, and usually "fake" multiplayer.
Retail FFXI = Not shutting down in a few years. There are far, far older games with even worse controls and TERRIBLE graphics that are still running today, not sure why you think retail would shut down. Retail can survive on Japanese population alone.

Do you just make stuff up? Your own source lists all the reason why an offline version or port of FFXI is not going to happen and offers no implication of the servers shutting down any time in the next few years.
