Just get good enough to beat it yourself, more satisfaction in that then having someone carry you through it and getting the item.

lol there's no skill involved to beating UO (or really.. most of FFXI).. you can't solo it though, so paying people to help you complete a task that you can't complete yourself is a pretty normal thing in FFXI.

I mean you can say after having played a game for 7+ years that all the knowledge you accrued in order to play it with relative ease isn't a skill, I think some people would disagree. I don't think people are paying for a body, theyre paying for a guaranteed win. Id imagine most of the discretion that people use in using their seals is their lack of a guarantee of a win if theyve never done the BC, or that their partners will be incompetent. Not that its difficult to shout for UO and to find someone willing to do it.

Could be - You can argue that knowing what compositions make Uo easy, is skill, that’s fair.

Also finding random people competent enough to not screw things up in general is uncommon in my experience. Most of the competent people have their own groups or already have said items. Rolling with randoms from shouts and using your own seals is rolling the dice - which I know I personally am not willing to do.
