Ok so I just made my account and when I log in I only see floating names, no characters, NPCs, nothing. I logged out several times and nothing, I changed the graphics settings too... any ideas?

This is tied to a specific Intel Graphics driver/device. You could try using the DX9 proxy: http://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title= ... nt_low_FPS or update/rollback graphics drivers.

The amount of times and difference machines I’ve installed ffxi on I’ve had this a few times. May even have been just from updating onboard graphics driver, and reverting back to the old one fixed it. It’s definatly a specific intel integrated graphics driver that doesn’t work, so uninstall it and try a different version, hopefully that will fix it.
