Had an interesting party yesterday. We were hitting chain #20+ before we ran out of mobs and it was probably the best EXP/hr party i've had yet on Nasomi. Was a CN about 42 sync party with PL, and we had a BLM/NIN acting as our puller. It worked out great since they can:
- bypass the hecked up claim system bug,
- use low MP/quick cast spells to pull
- have shadows
- can sleep/ga

If people can adopt the idea, BLM could replace a THF or a BRD in a standard party setup and provide some more value in exp parties. Albeit, not a lack of pullers being LFG which would mean they'd be competing with THFs for a spot lol. Just sayin', its an option

And they thought I was a crazy BLM for having all my weapons capped... and actually using them to open chains when farming Sky and such. Don't laugh... a BLM and BLU can have a lot of fun once they work out the chain/burst timings.

Nice to see some people still willing to think outside the box.

Anything /NIN can bypass the messed up claim system after level 30 if they buy some Tsurara. Not sure why people would rather sit there and whiff.

I had a THF doing this over the weekend. Its definitely appreciated although I did notice some pain points with it like the mob moving out of range while casting resulting in needing to recast cause of the long cast time on it, and possibly the range. Its a decent alternative till the claim bug gets fixed for sure.


I can agree with that as I have been in a few parties where I needed to Jump pull. All I can say though, is any job that requires using a CD to pull is not the best idea. And in the Case of DRG, Relying on it to pull, and not using it on CD means a DPS loss.

swapping out a DRG for a BLM is also a DPS loss.

Never mentioned swapping anything. DRG can't chain pull effectively anyways. If you want a chain 4-5 party then it can work as a last resort. Also assuming he's any good, he could have the problem of having threat on the mob if he tries to leave early to pull, dragging the mob with him lol. Theres one problem you definitely wont have on BLM
