Too many people get picked on here. If some people can't even respect the person maintaining the server and don't know when to stop even when warned then maybe they deserve to face some consequences, maybe a couple of weeks in Mordion. Most people can understand when someone steps over the line and won't blame Nas for doing what's right. Still, at least others will be able to have a proper discussion with him about thing that do matter to them.

I literally can't think of anyone that doesn't respect Nas, or that crosses any line, that doesn't already currently not play on Nasomi.

Remember that the forums were very different a year ago. Things have been nice recently, but that just isn't normal. We happen to be treating things better because of nas's recent continued success, and you bet that his idea to even do a Q&A stems from that - but he's still careful.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was retail players crashing the servers. They are legitimately pissed because Ninja was streaming a private server. The way they talk about private servers as well as the people who prefer the level 75 era is pretty vile. I've seen some of them say some fairly psychotic shit.

Sounds like paranoia to me. I doubt that many people here would switch to retail if Nas was no longer available, more likely would look for another classic server. Also people who prefer retail as it is today wouldn't switch to Nas. I don't see how streamers are any different.
And I seriously, seriously doubt that people would do highly illegal things like intentionally DoSing the server just because of that. I actually doubt that anyone's trying to crash the search function intentionally. My guess is that it happens due to some sort of edge case that happens every once in a while.

DDOSing and crashing the search server are 2 totally different things. Both things that yes, people actually do, regardless of legality.

Go talk about 75 era or private servers on FFXIAH, the FFXI Reddit, or the FFXI Reddit Discord and see what happens.
