Do you people seriously want Nasomi to spend his time establishing rules for an economic system and dealing with every single complaint about being undercut, trying to sculpt the perfect market under his own framework where everyone is perfectly happy and nobody's feeling get hurt? Holy shit.

The OP admitted to being too lazy to clean out his AH and relist his items, which is the obvious solution to his problem. He decided to make an appeal to people's feelings in order to save himself the 20 minutes a week it takes to relist 100 items and got rightfully crushed for it. This discussion has become even more ridiculous than yesterday. It's a video game. There are entire government departments and international organizations dedicated to trade in the real world. Don't waste Nasomi's time with this bullshit.

Honestly?

I would rather have some gil for an item than no gil. And if that means I have to clear items from my AH and resell them at a lower price then so be it.

Players who have put the time and effort into farming items want them to sell because they need the gil. Even if it is below the current market selling price.

Otherwise you get stuck in a rut of not having the appropriate gear for your level. And I know we put up with it because we're still a fairly small server compared to what it used to be back in retail days, but working around an under-geared Tank or Healer is quite taxing if you don't have the fortune of one of your party members having a PL.

So unless you're willing to shell out gil to undergeared players, I'd stop whining and just play the damn game. And if you are one of those undergeared players then I suggest you lower your selling prices or find another market to earn your goal amount.

One of the reasons I love this server is because of the 100 item limit. It creates a large and healthy Auction House experience. Items that you'd never have found listed, even back in the good ole' days, are listed here because people can afford the space.

Besides, on retail you could create 16 characters (I believe that was how many) for a grand total of 112 items you could potentially list on the AH. This sounds crazy, but I actually knew a few dedicated players who did this. I remember one guy joined my LS and he wanted all 16 characters a pearl, lol.

I know price cutters are annoying. But please don't mess with the AH limit.

What is the problem with a 7 listing limit per character?

With a lower listing limit this kind of activity is less likely to happen. That would be a good thing imo because lazy people should rightly pay more than just 100g over the cheapest npc price for a stack...

You would see a dramatic decrease in the availability of items on the AH. The large limit on consumables helps drive prices down which helps the standard player use them. The large limit also allows a wide range of items to be sold on the AH without people having to pick and choose what to sell at any given time. I know back in retail I chose to drop/NPC some gear/quest items because it was beneficial to me to list others and have the inventory space for other things.

I am not a fan of limiting the AH listings more than the current 100, but if it was going to be limited more, I am favoring the 7 listings per item per character plan. This would at least allow leveling players and crafters to diversity their listings and still allow people to find the items they want.

7 item (not per item) limit would mean crystals skyrocket, which benefits new players.

Personally, I would undercut harder in order to move items more quickly. Also: cheaper crystals benefit new crafters. I don't think we know what the results of 7 slots would be.
