Close. That's a major point, yes. This is somewhat alleviated by stacking tons of INT though. Geared as I am I'm still very capable of taking care of business even in CN basement. It doesn't matter if I can or not when people see a BLM seeking and would rather sit 5/6 and wait 30+ minutes for something else. (I've seen it myself)

As far as manaburning. At 45 there are very few within sync range that want to do this. At least when I try. While I understand there are plenty of BLMs that leech off parties casting 2 spells and healing for the rest of the fight and such this also exists with other jobs. Such as MNKs that /attack and never pay further attention. I'm not the only one that's seen this. Mob moves but they never move to get back in line of sight and just stand there facing away doing nothing.

Let me get off of that though.

The point is, even if someone will give 110% to be as effective as possible, if they are immediately overlooked it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter if they're as well geared as possible with an inventory full of INT/MP food. (Not saying I am. I could stand to get +1 Morion Earrings but aside from that? )

I've actually participated in a KRT pt on BLM and was told that I pulled my own weight. Because even if I wasnt nuking, I was sleeping adds, Enfeebling, and stunning so WARs could put shadows up. As long as the thing ran smoothly, I didnt care if I was blowing shit up or not.

I couldn't, and it doesn't matter. You take care of business in CN basement compared to other BLM's, in that... BLM sucks, but you suck slightly less because you have good gear.

I have BiS gear, and I suck even more slightly less. It doesn't matter though, because we are thoroughly outplayed by a subpar geared SAM.. because again... Macc is ruined.

I appreciate your input that BLM can suck less than "truly useless" if you have the best gear and understand how to play BLM... The problem is that the best BLM humanly possible at level 45, is worse than a SAM wearing NQ average gear.

As mentioned, tier 2 spells are more or less worthless. I had a PL party last night with 5 other DD in CN that was killing things as fast as the camp allows, so it didn't really matter and I got to mess around with having the best gear possible, queen's crown active, and still.. Tier 2 spells were basically a waste. You're better off just spamming blizzard 1.

I haven't bothered with manaburning, because I'm fortunate and haven't needed to, but it sure would be nice if I wasn't basically relying on friends to carry a worthless job and party effectively as 5/6 on a job that isn't actually supposed to be broken, as Nas sees it.

I'm sympathetic to Aeroo's point earlier, that making a BLM powerful in an XP party makes them broken at 75. I just think there's gotta be some slight upgrades to lower tier spells or macc that could make them at least viable. Everyone knows BLM like XP too as well, there's just currently no reason to invite one whatsoever.

Getting a few pity invites for KRT is nice, and there are things you can do to make you less useless... it just doesn't approach the level of making you an actual good candidate to invite lol.

"PL" aggro pulls 2-4 mobs > timed -ga > sleepga2(dedicated sleeper that doesnt nuke if no brd) > timed -ga > etc
