You can still get it without killing the normal NMs, from BCNMs.

No you can't. The BCNM "Dropping Like Flies" is all kinds of bugged. Blackscreen upon entry, mobs not even spawning and chest not spawning are the ones I saw. Total 8 runs, not a single one worked correctly.

I'm going to blow your mind but a level 10-11 lizard drops an even more expensive item. A level 9-10 rabbit does as well.
