My opinion is to go 100% one way or the other - either always on or never on.

The short EXP ring "events" sound good on paper, but, as others have mentioned, they make the server go crazy. Everyone flocks to the best xp/hr zones they know and proceed to be colossal dicks to each other over the best camps/mobs trying to burn all their charges before they're disabled again. Chat is spammed with people complaining about their rings not working right and/or questions about the rings and everyone feels obligated to go out and exp/merit instead of doing whatever else they wanted or planned on.

Plus the events are frequently not announced much or at all in advance and only last for a few hours - leaving people who didn't see the notice or couldn't log in in time feeling slighted... overall I just feel like the events generate more frustration than joy which defeats the purpose.

While I would prefer to have the rings just be active 100% of the time, I can live with it being the other way as well. Currently, the events are rare enough that no one would really notice them disappearing, anyway.

I think xp bands are fine the way they are. I'm not used to them or reliant on them, however during low party/population times(thanksgiving, etc) where it's more difficult to find people willing to party, it encourages them to do so. I missed my first xp event, and i didn't feel bad. I had a party for the most recent event possibly because the xp event. They don't offer an insane advantage, just a little boost to encourage people who are online to get out and party.

Guess that’s right regardless a dumb addition to the game, didn’t even like it during retail. If you want the level the job go grind it out like everyone else. This game doesn’t cater to casuals it never has. Nasomi has perfect system for when rings now, even with more exp camps opening up this week.

That's a predictable response, so let's half the exp rate while we're at it because otherwise the game is "too casual"
Oh, but that's also not quite accurate, hmm.

7k exp/week doesn't make a huge difference for the people playing everyday, it's a nice boost for those who only party once or twice a week. To denounce something that saved a bit of time (from CoP nonetheless) is silly, you may as well start preaching for the removal of OP warps or better yet the free warp scrolls.

Side note: I'm all for changing the CP price of warp scrolls back to the original value, a (very) few blm's may get parties out of it.

This topic has been brought about 1000000 billion times already if nasomi wanted to change it he would. The guy is opening up tons of new EXP camps for the server people still complaining about 7k extra a week.

I always find it nice for the 1-12 stretch before you party up, maybe just level restrict them. If the idea is to promote partying, this won't hinder that ideal, but gets people at the required level faster.

I find the 1-12 really quick already. Concentrate on dc's with signet for that sweet 108xp. Much faster than retail, i think if it was any faster, I would need to skill up before hitting the dunes.
