Can someone please explain to me how /DNC is more overpowered than a lv75 dual box character for soloing content?

Edit: and just for experience, i've duo and trio boxed in retail. Again, no skill is required just a basic understanding of how to multitask lmfao.

I'm also not the one with private server items, likely obtained when the population was sub 1000 in my signature like i'm "good at the game."

What the others were trying to convey was how one should be grateful that Nasomi answered OP with his vision. This nearly never happens on these forums.

In that light, they meant to strongly discourage arguing with Nasomi or nagging him about a bunch of other stuff like this was the WoW General Forums, he doesn't care and has no time for it, and we wouldn't like him to avoid answering other simple posts like this in the future.

He... uh... stated his argument against DNC pretty clearly. It makes the game content offered on this server significantly easier, because we'd be introducing a broken subjob into a world designed for it to not exist. You, however, chose to draw a false equivalence between having a broken subjob like /DNC and the ability to play two characters at the same time while maintaining a high level of functionality and responsiveness.

It's FFXI. It's one of the slowest games known to man, and none of it takes any actual skill. The ability to multitask, if it was so easy, however would fail to explain the fact that 80+% of people that dualbox are utterly terrible at it. You can choose whatever word you want to describe it, but it has nothing to do with /DNC or why /DNC isn't ever going to be added here. It won't be.

It was the beginning of the end of FFXI, and one of the biggest mistakes devs ever made. They had a game catered around community, difficulty, and large scale teamwork and then slaughtered that by making the abilities that make DNC so OP not be a higher level than 37.

Your opinions don't deserve to be argued, because they are factually incorrect.

In general, those that think dualboxing is so easy that everyone can do it well and it's just a "basic understanding of multitasking" are the people that the rest of us laugh at for trying to dualbox.

And there it is, the pro forma attack on a player and their accomplishments because they found the server before you did. You're entitled to your opinion, but when it's based on misinformation, more than likely garnered from forum shitposts or other "have nots" in the game as to how the server used to be according to them, nobody is going to take you seriously.

Most of us "played back in the day" in one form or another, and most (not all) agree that Dancer (/dnc) along with Books and Campaign fundamentally changed the way in which FFXI was played, hence the reason for servers like this one, to rollback the tide of solo accessibility. Slightly ironic coming from me, as I spend most of my time farting about with my alt farming.

Which I suppose is where my thoughts on dual boxing come in. It's not rocket science, but takes a bit more attention than slapping an enemy with whatever step or samba makes your life easier, waltz your worries away or skip on buying sneak/invis potions or spells, or even levelling the jobs to use them. Additionally, it requires the time and resource investment to level and equip both characters, get them through the content that is relevant to you on top of your income generation. To just say loldualbox is a tad narrow minded.

Your argument of "Why 80% of the people can't multi-box" can be explained because in reality, 80% of the server is average at best when it comes to playing this game regardless of how slow it is. Introducing dual boxing will of course lower that to below average. This was true in retail, and is true now. ESPECIALLY because its a free server. I'm not dogging the server, im not dogging anyone who plays. But to sit here and state or even think 80% of the playerbase should be omfgwtfbbqelite is dumb.

YOU think it was the beginning of the end yet there are numbers that show FFXI was dead in the water and losing subs fast until abyssea showed up. YOU are just nostalgic of a time that you aren't even actually playing in because the server is so radically different and fights are so broken that your argument of "lulz im doing it like it was!" HAS NO WEIGHT TO IT. I went NIN 11-26 in 5 hours, thats 10k exp a hecking hour. You weren't doing that shit in 2007.

I don't actually care if /DNC gets added, I love this server for what it is and would and could not ever bitch at Nasomi for what hes done and what I want.
I did things for years without /DNC in retail. But to sit here and think it would break this game is silly. People are already doing things by themselves with their dual boxes that people would be doing /DNC solo.
