oh god, im not very mac savvy and tried booting it thru the terminal, Wine, but i will download the new launcher regardless

You have to replace the older files where you installed it with the new ones. You would have done this inside of the WINEPREFIX for the game. Not sure where you installed it -- but you should be able to figure it out. It would be `~/.wine` if you did it to the default one on a UNIX system.

If you have other trouble, post back. If you just want the old launcher to work for now you can also a DNS rebind. Not sure how is the old one is legal or not -- since I think a few addons were removed in it (such as wireframe) but considering a new full installer has not yet even been released, I would say you are OK.
