So I was playing as normal today, gathering up some AF on my rng, and when I change jobs I notice that my usual neck piece is missing.

And when I went through to make sure everything else was there, I found that it wasn't the only item that had been "lost."

Has anybody found any of their items missing recently? I'm selfishly hoping it's not only me; maybe that way I'll be able to get them back...?

The missing two items are my PCC and E-Bow otherwise I wouldn't even bother...

Items cannot just go missing. However, if you placed them in Storage, but then lost space, then they won't show up unless you add more Storage to show their slot again.

The other possibility is that you share your login with someone else and they 'borrowed' them.

So I gather that there is no bug that is making items disappear, which is what I was hoping for. Stranger things have happened on Nas.

I understand items don't regularly disappear. I haven't messed with storage space except for adding two snowmen from the event this past week. I didn't store anything there.

I have never shared my account nor login nor account details with anyone.

I guess it leaves me with two major possibilities:
1. Nasomi took my two items away. Unless he really dislikes me, this seems unlikely. I'm also not in jail, so I couldn't have done anything too bad.
2. Somebody hacked or exploited me. As above, I've never shared passwords or anything. The only thing even remotely risky that I've done is added my username and password directly to my Ashita boot profile.

But everybody who used Windows 10 after a certain update had to do that just to log in.

So if I got hacked, it means that lots of others are also at risk.

Just did...nothing.

I thought I'd post why I think why my items could possibly be missing:

Points for being hacked:
- My two most valuable items were removed from inventory: Eurytos’ Bow and Peacock Charm.
- Not 100% positive, but I think I logged off in Windurst Woods. The plan was to chocobo to Mhaura the next day to continue RNG AF quests. When I logged on, I noted that I was at my HP in Bastok Mines minus a warp scroll. I chalked it up to being sleepy when I last closed FFXI.
- I did not think to go through my inventory at that point. A quick check on my equipment screen showed I had all my gear on. But Ranger’s Necklace and Peacock Charm have the same icon and I frequently carry both on me, so I didn’t check any more closely than that. However, I am sure that I had my Peacock Charm on me the time I logged off before that since I was XP partying in Crawler’s Nest before logging in Windy.
- My login username and password were, at some point, conceivably stored in plain text in the Ashita boot profile because I had to do so just to log into my account. Some months ago after Windows 10 updated, it screwed up regular login via the command prompt. I only used the accepted workaround. However, nobody had direct access to my computer during that time except for me. Nor has anybody ever had access to my computer. I’ve never even logged on from somebody else’s computer. So, if somebody logged into my account using my credentials, then they would have had to intercept them remotely somehow. Yikes.

Points against:
- Only those two items seem to have been removed. My other (somewhat) valuables such as my Haubergeon, Leaping Boots, Emperor Hairpin, etc., were not removed.
- My gil seems not to have been taken at all (I’m not rich, but gil is gil).
- Nobody sold both a Eurytos’ Bow and a Peacock Charm within the last day on AH. Although a clever thief probably wouldn’t implicate him/herself so readily. It would only be circumstantial anyhow.
- Would somebody seriously hack an account on a private server??


It's fine to ignore the text above--I know it's a bit long.
But if someone is game for my actual question: has anybody actually been hacked or had their account compromised lately? I don't read about it much at all and I can't believe that I of all the players here (being quiet poor except for the above two items) would have been hacked.

There's one other possibility. I've logged into my account before but once the game came up I saw someone else's character instead of my own on the character select screen. Immediately logged out and back into mine though. So yeah. Someone could have used their own login info and your character came up.

Been a known bug for some time now. Nothing happens when you do see it.
