As a new player, my goal is to end up as a Corsair. Is there something I need to know about in relation to that class and this server before I make a final decision? Thank you.

I'd level something else to 75 if you're trying to quickly get your first 75 job. ToAU can't do Maat fights(final lvl cap raise) and COR doesn't get AF as you see in this thread.

In the upcoming updates, the currently missing AF and level 70 cap quest could be fixed before you need them.

Of course, its a race to see how slow your soon is compared to the speed of Nasomi's soonTM. Due to how phase 2 is the next phase, and quests being a part of that phase, you should be fine.

It is worth mentioning that the gun DOES currently work (also seemed to do extra damage when synced below level, but that could be anecdotal from another corsair). As for the rest of the AF, nothing noteworthy currently works.

Still fun doing corsair things without the AF. Ideally, you'll be able to get the sharkgun, too, by the time you're 60, as it is currently locked behind assault missions AFAIK.

Chest, Head, and Feet for AF and a gun from Assault ranks with ISP all look good, but I'll probably never get to use. However, I took off long enough from leveling COR that I was able to enjoy leveling in ToAU areas now. Also, I've already got all my LB done from my WAR.

Thank you. It'll probably be a while for me so hopefully all that will be fixed. When you mention AF, what is that exactly. Sorry...but I have never played this MMO.

AF is what this topic is about, ArtiFact armor. Job specific equipment that you generally quest for, either by fighting special mobs or unlocking special chests, that you can equip from the 50s, with every 2 levels ending at 60. Specifically: feet, legs, body, hands, and head. Right now I'm pretty sure only the legs are coded to work here.

At 40(ish for some jobs), you get the first quest which is for your weapon. It is a pretty strong choice for corsair, in my opinion.
