What the crap!! I tried all HP drain swords and none of them does the HP drain!! Very expensive weapons 100k + per each very upset that they do not drain! I have tried killing many many many mobs thinking it has to drain at some point. Nothing. The HP drain on weapons (swords) is a scam and an expensive one at that! I urge this issue to be fixed! Seriously this is going to push me to another private server it's that bad! If you take the HP drain out of a weapon it should just be taken out of the game in total because it's turned into a very expensive scam!! I am both upset and hurt.. Gil is not easy to come by in this game. Takes many hours to farm for it, and to just throw it away.. seriously!!

HP drain weapons sucked in retail too. I have a level 73, 2,000,000g hp drain weapon, and I don't think I've ever seen it drain more than 30 hp. It procs probably less than 10% of the time.

In the future, consult with a veteran before making an expensive purchase about the wisdom of the investment. You are welcome to ask me, if you like.

I played retail I am clearly aware that it was low hp drain. That isn't the issue. The issue is that it has ZERO!! percent chance of drain. As in it's not there. I played retail for 10 years. I know what I am purchasing and what it's suppose to feel like when you use the item. I been on this server for over a year. Many of my LS members didn't even know that the swords were nurfed to nothing!! It has a ZERO percent chance of HP drain!!

How you got through 10 years of retail with this much of an overreaction I have no idea.

Have you ever thought of just throwing the item back on the ah and selling it? ffs dude.

And if you didn't suck, youd have known from retail that that shit never procced on anything that matters because it's based on dlvl of you and the mob.

This is one of those situations where whether you're serious, or trolling us really hard, its still just as hilarious either way.

I am dead serious!! I know that if you go around attacking for 4 straight hours to do a test that you should at least get 1 hp drain at some point. 4 hour test and not 1 hp drain on over 100 MOBS IS impossible! It has exactly a 0 percent chance of hp drain. It's a scam item on this server!! Why put it back on AH for to scam someone else No thanks I am not that kind of dickish ass hole. I brought the issue up to hear a good reply and so far no ones given me any reply worth a damn.

And no one's going to.

Forget exactly where I saw it, but it was when I was looking into starting up a few months back, but remember reading there was an issue with additional effect items in general where the effects didn't proc.

As such, I don't consider those additional effect numbers when guagiing potential dps of a weapon. I have yet to spend the extra for those weapons over something comparable by base stats.

Exactly this is my point. I've been on nasomi now for a whole year and play daily. I have forgiven for much of the bugs. But nasomi actually took the fun out of the game. And the kicker is I am learning that nasomi wants FFXI to be played a certain way. I am starting to get the feeling I don't like his version of the game. It's actually boring. He has taken the fun out of the game. Many skills don't work. He's edited many play styles he doesn't like for one reason or another out of the server. I am just coming to the conclusion I should just go instead of bitching. I do not share the vision of FFXI with nasomi any more. He wants the game to be played a certain way. It's now obvious why he has done what has done. I'll go find another server.

If something is broken report it as a bug. Nothing is intentionally broken that should have existed in this era.
