Hey everyone. Just before i go over the actual issue i wanted to say that I'm someone who has never played FFXI before in the slightest, but am an avid player of XIV. I've considered getting into XI for a while now, but i never wanted to buy it because from the footage I've seen, it looked somewhat boring to me. But then i figured i could try to get onto a Private server to see if it's worth playing. So, i'm glad that this server exists. Otherwise i might have never considered playing FFXI.

Anyway, i only today attempted to install the game- after already foolishly installing the original client, which was not actually necessary since the server's files came with it- and it's been relatively smooth sailing up until now. First of all, i had an issue where i couldn't even log in, due to something causing the launcher to input 2 asterisks- god knows what letter they were- for each keystroke. Eventually i figured out i could fix this with a command that would log me in automatically. However, following that, i had an issue that stated the following:

Failed to initialize instance of polcore!
Closing...

And i have absolutely no idea what this means. Initially the layout of the whole command prompt launcher was different until i actually linked the launcher to run through the Pol file under the bootmod folder. I did still have this issue initially though- this wasn't a result of doing that. If anyone knows why I've gotten this error and how to fix it, do let me know please. Thanks in advance.

Huh. I did what was instructed, but after, everything applies perfectly (including the hairpin command i saw on another screenshot- i just figured i should include it in case) however, it still says Closing... after sending the user ID, applying hairpin fix, so on, so forth. No error or anything, just says Closing.

Check graphics settings. Are you using a resolution your monitor supports? Did you use the nasomi installer?

I get the same error on my machine. Troubleshooter says I'm running the retail version at the same time... I don't even have retail installed... Sure there's no other possible explanation for this error?

The other explanation is that your install is not complete.

Re-run the nasomi installer.

If you ran the install INSIDE the zip instead of extracting it first (direct download option only) then you need to EXTRACT the download first before running it.
