hey guys, I was looking through the forums and even Googled for quiet a bit of time. Does anyone know of a good calculator or website for finding the stat caps? I'm trying to find the chr cap for 75 bard and am not having any luck. Thanks!

Most things in FFXI depend on checks of your stat vs the enemy. Therefore there aren't any easy calculators for this kind of thing. Also, keep in mind that enemy stat parameters on Nasomi are not the same as retail. They are a close approximation of retail, but that's all.

True. I guess it's just a matter of trying out a few things and then going from there. Mine was more HNM related as far as landing elegy and such. I have solid gear and was just curious as to what else I should farm going forward. Thanks man!

I'm not a BRD so I can't answer you exactly, but Wind skill has always been the most important part of landing Elegy. I think the general consensus is to just get as much Wind as possible until you stop resisting, and then throw CHR in the other slots. Unfortunately there isn't a published value for Wind skill needed per mob (I think that's what you were asking for) so you'll just have to use trial and error.

Similar to BLM. INT and MAB are what determines your damage, but if you're not wearing any skill gear and keep getting 1/8th resists, putting on Elemental magic skill should be your first priority.

I do know that some HNMs are just very resistant. If you know that you'll be fighting one of them, go BRD/BLM and use Elemental Seal with your Troubadour Elegy for 7 minutes of fun.

to answer your question, i've heard people say a CHR amount that you dont need to exceed.. but I have no idea why they got to that number.

Also, make sure you shoot an Earth Threnody on the mob before trying to and an Elegy (if you think you may not land it, or if it resisted the first attempt) ^_^

Lullaby = Light Threnody
Elegy = Earth Threnody

I think people who talk about this number threshold number also do it when discussing Monster Signa vs Light/Iridal Staff for Bard Elegy and Beastmaster Charming.

For sure. It’s been discussed before, and I imagine I shared the number of heard repeated at the time. I’ve never done any testing of my own, I just stack it in the order I posted above and do just fine.

That is a retail thing, where people said you didn't need more that 120 total Chr. This was based on the idea that with that much Chr you would have more Chr than all of the HNMs. I am not sure this is correct on Nasomi. In my Song accuracy set I have 75+60 Chr but that set prioritizes Singing and Wind over raw Chr so it's possible to get more than that.

Also, Singing and Wind skill are equal in value; get the highest amount of both that you can. Both are more important than Chr assuming that you a decent amount of Chr.

The last time I tested song acc elemental seal wasn't effecting it. That was over a year ago and with the recent Troub changes it might now.

A few months ago I was landing elegy about 30% of the time without Elemental seal and 100% of the time with it over the course of a few hours on Armed Gears.
