So I've gotten my girlfriend interested in XI and was wondering if we can fish together from two different computers but in the same household. She loves fishing in any game and us fishing together in an MMO while listening to music is something we have always loved doing. Now that forum accounts are tied to in game accounts is this possible? It clearly wouldn't be for some collective monetary advancement since she'd be starting from 0 fishing up jellies in Port Bastok/ Selby while I'm off in Qufim fishing up soles. If this is a problem still is it something that will be adjusted in the future for couples that enjoy fishing together?

Only one account can do any of the following at any given time:
Harvesting, Excavating, Logging, Mining, or Fishing.

You can do so at different times, however. So while one is doing any of the above, the other can farm, camp NMs, OWNMs, grind/merit/CONTENT, etc.

Doesn't matter why or how you do it, not allowed. Otherwise, anyone can exploit/abuse it. Especially something like fishing where it can easily be dualboxed, triple box, quadboxed, whateverboxes cuz it's so easy.

As an extension to the OPs question, so I don't need to make my own post. Is it okay to play with my partner (as long as its not dual HELMF) who has a separate forum account (and thus game account for Nasomi) to play with me on the same IP since we live together? Or are we supposed to play with the main/alt from the same forum account (as 1 person?). Not sure what the correct method for this is, or if it is something that needs to be told to someone before playing 2 different accounts on the same IP.

Each person has their own forum account and own characters, so your first idea was right. You shouldn't be having one of you use 1 forum account with one playing main and the other alt.

I would get her to make her own account, its great she wants to play but if the rules were relaxed it would be all too easy for people to exploit. Me and my husband play separate accounts there is no need to share
